Brief information:
Wiktor Bockman was born in Wroclaw, Poland. In 1981 – 1986 he studied at the violin faculty in the music academy in Krakow. Upon graduation he had additional studies in Zurich (Switzerland) by Nathan Milstein and in Munich (Germany) by Jacob Gilman. Bockman became a laureate violinist in many international competitions. His special interest for conducting developed when, as a solo violinist, he played with the orchestras directed by such famous conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Bernard Lang, Gomez Martinez, Sauljus Sondezkis, Jurosh Lajovic and others. His formation as a conductor was completed later thanks to the close collaboration with Leonard Bernstein and Mikhail Yurovsky.
As a guest conductor, Wiktor Bockman worked with eminent opera houses and orchestras of Austria, Germany, USA, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Mexico, Venezuela, South Korea, Portugal, Albania, Ukraine and Russia. He is fluent in German, English, Russian, Polish and Italian. The artist regularly meets with musicians from other countries, learns about their traditions of performing music – all that has helped him to develop his potential in the capacity of a producer as well.
